HERO Award Qualifications
Nominees for the HERO Award should exhibit the following behaviors:
Preoccupation with Failure and Risk.
Reluctance to Simplify Interpretation.
Sensitivity to Operations.
Commitment to Resilience.
Deference to Expertise.
Nominations are solicited each year from MRO members and registered entities. The nomination period opens in January and closes in the fall. The nomination period is announced throughout the year at MRO’s conferences and events.

MRO’s executive team, in consultation with staff that support the organizational groups, reviews the nominations and determines the top three candidates to submit to the board’s Organizational Group Oversight Committee for final selection at the end of the year. Award recipient(s) are recognized at the Annual Member and Board Meeting that takes place in the fourth quarter and highlighted in MRO’s Annual Report.
