Notice of Open Board Seat and Call for Nominations

Saint Paul, Mn. Midwest Reliability Organization (MRO) would like to inform its members that a seat on the MRO Board of Directors in the Generator and/or Power Marketer Sector was vacated effective January 8, 2025.

The desired qualifications for board directors can be found in Policy and Procedure 1: MRO Board of Directors. Nominees must be employees of an MRO Member in the Generator and/or Power Marketer Sector. The term for this seat expires on December 31, 2025. There is persuasive governance literature demonstrating that companies with diverse boards outperform other companies. MRO encourages nominations of talented and diverse candidates for director positions.

If you wish to nominate yourself, or someone else, for this open position, please submit a nomination form no later than 12:00 pm Central, Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

Following the close of the nomination period, an electronic ballot will be issued for the Generator and/or Power Marketer Sector to elect its board representative. The ballot will be open for 14 days and the election results will be announced shortly thereafter. The newly elected director will be seated on the date following the close of the election.

Midwest Reliability Organization (MRO) is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring the reliability and security of the bulk power system in the central region of North America, including parts of both the United States and Canada. MRO is one of six regional entities in North America operating under authority from regulators in the United States through a delegation agreement with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and in Canada under similar arrangements. The primary focus of MRO is developing and monitoring compliance with reliability standards and assessing the grid’s ability to meet the demands for electricity.
