MRO’s organizational groups comprise industry subject matter experts from MRO member companies who help identify risks to reliability and security of the bulk power system, develop mitigation strategies, and share information and best practices with participants across MRO’s regional footprint.
The Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement Program Advisory Council (CMEPAC) provides advice and counsel to MRO’s Board of Directors, staff, members and registered entities on topics related to reliability standards, risk assessment and mitigation, compliance monitoring, and enforcement.
The Reliability Advisory Council (RAC) provides advice and counsel to MRO’s Board of Directors, staff, members and registered entities on topics such as transmission adequacy and availability, resource adequacy, integration of renewables, essential reliability services, event analysis, system protection, and reliability assessments.
The Security Advisory Council (SAC) provides advice and counsel to MRO’s Board of Directors, staff, members and registered entities on topics related to cyber security, physical security, and SCADA, EMS, substation and generation control systems.
MRO has a long and successful history of supporting NERC organizational groups by sponsoring stakeholder representatives to attend NERC committee meetings. As part of its sponsorship, MRO reimburses expenses incurred by the selected representatives attending NERC committee meetings for a three-year term.
