Saint Paul, Minn. Midwest Reliability Organization (MRO) is pleased to announce that Julie Peterson was promoted to Vice President General Counsel and Corporate Secretary effective December 12, 2022. Since joining the organization in January 2021, she has demonstrated great commitment to MRO’s vision and mission and is well regarded by her peers, both at MRO and across the ERO Enterprise.
Prior to joining MRO, Peterson served as the Director of Legal Operations for Alliances Management, an association management and strategic consulting firm. In that role, Peterson supported EMVCo, a global technical body facilitating the worldwide interoperability of secure payment transactions, by providing board governance and legal support. Prior to that, Peterson served as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of Hawaii.
Peterson earned her bachelor’s degree and law degree from the University of North Dakota. She will oversee the provision of strategic, proactive and practical legal advice to MRO’s executive team and the board of directors and will serve as the organization’s corporate secretary. Additionally, Peterson will oversee and provide direction to MRO’s human resource department.
“Julie’s experience and expertise in corporate governance, along with the high level of competence and curiosity she has demonstrated thus far, make her a valuable addition to MRO’s executive team,” said Sara Patrick, MRO’s president and CEO.
Peterson replaced Lisa Zell who departed the organization in late November.
